Hebe arrived at Malta on 9 July 1962 on completion of her first voyage from the UK. She was severely damaged by a fire, in Gibraltar on 30 November 1978. Most of the bridge and accommodation was destroyed, with one rating killed. Subsequent investigation showed the cause of the fire to be arson and a crew member was charged with arson and convicted. The RFA charter was cancelled in December and the ship was returned to her owners. Sold on 8 June 1979, renamed Good Guardian, repaired in Greece. Renamed Guardian in 1981 and Wafa in 1987. Scrapped at Famagusta September 1987.
