RFA BACCHUS (1) 1915-1937
Store carrier and distilling ship. GRT approx 2000. Built Hamilton, Port Glasgow in 1915. 295 x 49 x 12.5 feet. Steam recip, twin screw.
Served Port Said and Suda Bay 1916 - 1918. 1919 North Russian Expedition and Dardanelles in 1921. Stocked the new base at Trincomalee 1922 - 23. Then Chatham/Gib/Malta with collision 1928. Relieved by Bacchus II in 1937, bombing target and scrapped.
